Subject: Full Availability of New Login Process for NSLDS Professional Access Web Site Users on December 19, 2011

Earlier today, December 19, 2011, we informed the community of a delay in availability for some National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS) users (December 19, 2011). This delay resulted from the need for an extended period to load individual NSLDS user records after moving the NSLDS behind Federal Student Aid’s Access and Identity Management System (AIMS).

We are pleased to report that all NSLDS user records have now been loaded into AIMS. The NSLDS and its new login process are now fully available to all users.

We regret the inconvenience experienced by some NSLDS users and appreciate their patience as we completed our work.

Important Reminder: With the move behind AIMS, NSLDS users will no longer enter their NSLDS ID and password to log in to the Web site. Instead, a Federal Student Aid User ID (FSA User ID) and password will be used to authenticate each user’s identity prior to allowing access to the NSLDS Professional Access Web site. If an NSLDS user does not currently have an FSA User ID, the user will not be able to access the NSLDS Professional Access Web site until he or she completes the registration steps outlined in our posted communications. For complete information, refer to our December 8, 2011 Electronic Announcement, GA-2011-07, or LLS-2011-05 on the Information for Financial Aid Professionals (IFAP) Web site.

We will post another set of communications (Electronic Announcement, GA Technical Update, and Lender Technical Update) that provides screen shots and report information related to the new login process for the NSLDS Professional Access Web site. Monitor the IFAP Web site for these communications.
