Subject: 2011-2012 ISIR Guide (April 2011 Update)

We are pleased to announce the posting of an update to the 2011-2012 ISIR Guide. The ISIR Guide assists financial aid administrators (FAAs) in interpreting student information on the Institutional Student Information Record (ISIR). ISIRs contain processed student information reported on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), as well as key processing results and National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS) financial aid history information. ISIRs are sent electronically to institutions by the Central Processing System (CPS).

The April 2011 update revises the Comment Codes section and Appendix A to describe new comment codes 901 and 902. For more information on the revisions, consult the tracking log of changes posted with the guide or Appendix F in the updated guide.

For more information regarding the Central Processing System (CPS) issue resolution that resulted in the guide's revisions, see the April 7, 2011 electronic announcement posted to the Information for Financial Aid Professionals (IFAP) Web site.

In addition to its current availability on the IFAP Web site, the updated guide will also be available in the next several days from the Federal Student Aid Download (FSAdownload) Web site, located at https://www.fsadownload.ed.gov.
