Subject: OUTAGE ALERT--Direct Loan Consolidation System and Web Site Scheduled for January 28-31, 2011
Earlier this month, Federal Student Aid completed extended maintenance activities on the Direct Loan Consolidation System and its Web site. We need to continue these activities during the period of January 28-31, 2011, in addition to our routine maintenance that occurs each weekend.
Please review the information below and evaluate the impact on your school or organization during the periods when the affected system and Web site will be unavailable. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we complete the required activities.
Unavailability of Direct Loan Consolidation System and Web Site – January 28-31, 2011
The Direct Loan Consolidation System and its Web site will be unavailable from 6:00 P.M. (ET) on Friday, January 28, 2011 until 8:00 A.M. (ET) on Monday, January 31, 2011 in order to implement the system updates. The interactive voice response (IVR) unit at the Direct Loan Consolidation Center will also be unavailable during this time.
Notification will be posted on the Direct Consolidation Loans Web site. In addition, the IVR will advise borrowers of the outage timeframe.
