Subject: 2011-2012 EDE Technical Reference (January 2011 Update)

We are pleased to announce the posting of the updated 2011-2012 Electronic Data Exchange (EDE) Technical Reference. The EDE Technical Reference provides programmer specifications, record layouts, and other detailed information for schools or other organizations that need to design software systems to interface with the U.S. Department of Education's application processing system.

The January 2011 update contains minor revisions to the ISIR and Correction Export record layouts in the Record Layouts section, as well as corrections to text and several field positions in the cross-reference tables in the Processing Codes section. For more information, consult the tracking log of changes posted with the reference as an appendix.

In addition to its current availability on the Information for Financial Aid Professionals (IFAP) Web site, the guide will also be available in the next several days from the Federal Student Aid Download (FSAdownload) Web site, located at https://www.fsadownload.ed.gov.
