Subject: OUTAGE ALERT--Direct Loan Consolidation System and Web Site Scheduled for January 14-17, 2011
During the period January 14-17, 2011, we need to execute extended maintenance activities for the Direct Loan Consolidation System and its Web site in addition to our routine maintenance that occurs each weekend.
Please review the information below and evaluate the impact on your school or organization during the periods when the affected system and Web site will be unavailable. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we complete the required activities.
Note: Information about closures on January 17, 2011 due to the Birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr. federal holiday is provided in an electronic announcement posted on January 7, 2011 to the Information for Financial Aid Professionals (IFAP) Web site.
Unavailability of Direct Loan Consolidation System and Web Site – January 14-17, 2011
The Direct Loan Consolidation System and its Web site will be unavailable from 6:00 P.M. (ET) on Friday, January 14, 2011 until 8:00 A.M. (ET) on Monday, January 17, 2011 in order to implement the system updates. The interactive voice response (IVR) unit at the Direct Loan Consolidation Center will also be unavailable during this time.
Notification will be posted on the Direct Consolidation Loans Web site. In addition, the IVR will advise borrowers of the outage timeframe.
