Subject: FSA Handbook Focus Group Invitation

Federal Student Aid will be holding a focus group on the Federal Student Aid (FSA) Handbook at the FSA Conference in Orlando, and invites interested financial aid administrators to sign up to participate.

In the course of this session, we will explore HTML alternatives to the current print-based formatting. Web-based design techniques offer certain advantages that can make the FSA Handbook easier for users to browse and faster to update for recent regulatory requirements and other policy guidance. We would like to get feedback from financial aid professionals on the “look and feel” of the HTML alternative, and ways to expedite the delivery of updates during the financial aid cycle.

To ensure a thorough discussion of the alternatives, the size of the group will be limited. We will register participants on a first-come, first-served basis.

The focus group will be held on Wednesday, December 1, 2010, from 4:45 PM to 6:00 PM (ET).

If you are interested in attending the FSA Handbook focus group, please send an e-mail to fsaschoolspubs@ed.gov no later than November 24, 2010 with the following information:

  1. Your Full Name and Job Title
  2. Your School or Servicer Name and Location
  3. Your E-mail Address and Business Phone Number

We will confirm your attendance upon receipt of your E-mail, and send you additional information as background for discussion.

If you are a frequent user of the FSA Handbook, in either print or electronic (PDF) form, we encourage you to sign up. Your feedback and suggestions will help us build a better FSA Handbook.
