Subject: Availability of EDExpress for Windows 2010-2011, Release 4.0

We are pleased to announce the posting of EDExpress for Windows 2010-2011, Release 4.0, on the Department's Federal Student Aid Download (FSAdownload) Web site, located at https://www.fsadownload.ed.gov.

Release 4.0 includes updates to the William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan (Direct Loan) and Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant modules to import and store exit counseling results files sent by the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS). In addition, we updated the Direct Loan module to import and store entrance counseling results files sent by the Common Origination and Disbursement (COD) System.

Release 4.0 also updates the App Express module to import and store the new IRS Student Request Flag and IRS Parent Request Flag data elements added to the 2010-2011 Institutional Student Information Record (ISIR).

In addition to the software, the following EDExpress 2010-2011 documents related to Release 4.0 are now available on the FSAdownload Web site:

  • EDExpress for Windows 2010-2011, Release 4.0 Cover Letter (provides information regarding enhancements available in Release 4.0)
  • EDExpress for Windows 2010-2011, Release 2.0 Desk Reference (updated to include guidance on Release 4.0 enhancements)

The Installation Guide for EDExpress for Windows 2010-2011, available on the FSAdownload Web site, also contains important technical information and guidance regarding EDExpress 2010-2011 that you should review.
