Subject: Emergency Preparation for Financial Aid Administrators at Institutions of Higher Education participating in Title IV Programs

Federal Student Aid is committed to helping schools impacted by a federally-declared disaster serve students and families. Of course, preparation and communication are keys to coping with a disaster. So that we can communicate with you in the most effective way possible during and immediately following a disaster, we want to ensure that your contact information is accurate and current.

We ask that you provide emergency contact information on your Application for Approval to Participate in Federal Student Financial Aid Programs (E-application) (Box 69) to make sure that our records for your institution are accurate and current. Specifically, we ask that you provide alternate contact information for your institution's financial aid administrator and another official of the institution e.g., CEO, president or Chief Financial Officer. Attached are step by step instructions (see enclosure).

Federal Student Aid is available for questions and operational guidance at our toll-free number: 1-800-433-7327.
