Subject: Birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr. Federal Holiday and Inauguration Day Processing and Customer Service Hours

Note: We updated this Electronic Announcement on January 14, 2009 by correcting the operating status for the Federal Student Aid Information Center (FSAIC) on Monday, January 19, 2009. As now reflected in the chart, the FSAIC will be open on the 19th.

Our Federal offices as well as some of our Title IV processors and call centers will be closed on Monday, January 19, 2009 to observe the Birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr. Federal holiday. Additionally, the Federal offices located in Washington, DC will be closed on Tuesday, January 20, 2009 for the Presidential Inauguration activities. Some of the call centers and Title IV processors will also be closed on these days. See the schedule below for the various centers' operation status.

CPS

CPS/SAIG Technical Support will be closed on Monday, January 19, 2009.

The Central Processing System (CPS) will accept data on Monday, January 19, 2009, and Tuesday, January 20, 2009 but will not process new Institutional Student Information Records (ISIRs) until Wednesday, January 21, 2009

COD System

The Common Origination and Disbursement (COD) School Relations Center will be open on Monday, January 19, 2009, and Tuesday, January 20, 2009.

The COD System will accept and process data from schools and send back responses/acknowledgments on Monday, January 19, 2009 and Tuesday, January 20, 2009, but schools will not be able to receive any Federal funds on those days. Requests for changes in funding levels and for funds will not be processed until Wednesday, January 21, 2009.

Note: We are planning to execute a COD System maintenance activity on Sunday, January 18, 2009 of the holiday weekend. Please refer to the "COD Processing Update" posted on the COD Web site for an explanation of this activity.
