Publication Date: November 14, 2008 Author: William Leith, Acting General Manager, Application, Operations and Delivery Services, Federal Student Aid Summary: Thanksgiving Day Federal Holiday Processing and Customer Service Hours Posted on 11-14-2008 Our Federal offices as well as some of our Title IV processors and call centers will be closed on Thursday, November 27, 2008 to observe the Thanksgiving Day Federal holiday. In addition, some of the Title IV processors and call centers will be closed on Friday, November 28, 2008. The Central Processing System (CPS) will accept data on Thursday, November 27, 2008 and Friday, November 28, 2008 but will not process new Institutional Student Information Records (ISIRs) until Monday, December 1, 2008. The Common Origination and Disbursement (COD) School Relations Center will close at 3:00 P.M. (ET) on Wednesday, November 26, 2008 and reopen at 8:00 A.M. (ET) on Friday, November 28, 2008. The COD System will accept and process data from schools and send back responses/acknowledgments on Thursday, November 27, 2008, but schools will not be able to receive any Federal funds on that day. Due to the overlapping unavailability of G5 (formerly GAPS), requests for changes in funding levels and for funds will not be processed until after G5 is available on Monday, December 1, 2008. As explained in an October 9, 2008 Electronic Announcement on the Information for Financial Aid Professionals (IFAP) Web site, we expect financial processing to be caught up by Thursday, December 4, 2008. All Federal Student Aid Web sites will remain operational on the holiday.
