Summary: Availability of New TDClient for Windows Software for SAIG Transmissions

Posted on 10-21-2008

Federal Student Aid is pleased to announce availability of new TDClient for Windows software for Student Aid Internet Gateway (SAIG) transmissions. To obtain the TDClient for Windows software, contact CPS/SAIG Technical Support at 800/330-5947.

Note: For Windows users who prefer an automated point and click environment, we continue to recommend EDconnect v7.2 software. EDconnect provides a simplified transmission interface with built-in menus, pre-built templates, and the ability to set up transmissions based on application system, award year, or message class.

An updated SAIG Host Communication Guide v2.6 will be available on the Federal Student Aid Download (FSAdownload) Web site, located at https://fsadownload.ed.gov, on October 24, 2008. The updated SAIG documentation will include instructions for installing and setting up TDClient in the Windows environment.

TDClient allows users to automate their transmission tasks using batch files, scripting, or other programming languages. Other supported TDClient platforms are MVS/ZOS, HPUX, AIX, OS400, and Sun Solaris.

If you have questions about the information in this announcement, contact CPS/SAIG Technical Support at 800/330-5947 (TDD/TTY 800/511-5806), or by e-mail at CPSSAIG@ed.gov.
