Summary: Issue Alert - Schools Cannot Import 2007-2008 Pell Grant Reconciliation Reports Generated by COD System on September 4, 2008

In a September 3, 2008 Electronic Announcement on the Information for Financial Aid Professionals (IFAP) Web site, we informed schools that we would send 2007 2008 Reconciliation Reports to schools’ Student Aid Internet Gateway (SAIG) mailboxes to assist with final reporting before the September 30, 2008 processing deadline for 2007-2008 Academic Competitiveness Grant (ACG), National Science and Mathematics Access to Retain Talent Grant (National SMART Grant), and Federal Pell Grant (Pell Grant) awards.

On Thursday, September 4, 2008, we sent a 2007-2008 Pell Grant Reconciliation Report (message class PGRC08OP) to the SAIG mailboxes of all reporting schools with at least one funded 2007 2008 Pell Grant disbursement. We have identified an issue with the header and trailer sections of these reports that will impact a school’s ability to import the files.

We are currently evaluating the issue and will post another announcement on the IFAP Web site as soon as we have additional information.

In the meantime, we have put the mass generation of the 2007-2008 ACG Reconciliation Report and the 2007-2008 National SMART Grant Reconciliation Report scheduled for today, September 5, 2008 on hold.

We apologize for this inconvenience and thank you for your patience and understanding.
