The EDconnect transmission software will automatically request, download, and import this new message class table with your next connection to the SAIG network. Once the MESSAGTB file has been imported, the new message class table will be used from that point forward. Message Classes Federal Student Aid will add message classes for the Central Processing System (CPS), the Common Origination and Disbursement (COD) System, and the Direct Loan Servicing System (DLSS) to the new message class table. CPS Message Class Federal Student Aid will add the 2008-2009 CPS message class IATX09OP to the new message class table. A school will be able to use this new message class to accommodate files it generates when using the export feature of the ISIR Analysis Tool available through FAA Access to CPS Online. The message class is as follows:
COD Message Classes The new message class table will reflect the standard COD System messages classes rolled over from 2007-2008. These messages classes are fully outlined in Volume II, Section 2 and Volume III, Section 2 of the 2008-2009 COD Technical Reference on the Information for Financial Aid Professionals (IFAP) Web site, located at http://ifap.ed.gov. Federal Student Aid will add five new 2008-2009 COD System message classes for the Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant Program to the new message class table. These 2008-2009 TEACH Grant message classes are fully outlined in Volume II, Section 2 of the 2008-2009 COD Technical Reference and will be in use after the June 27-28, 2008 implementation of additional COD System functionality to support TEACH Grant origination and disbursement processing. DLSS Message Classes Federal Student Aid will add new non-cyclical message classes for the Direct Loan Servicing Delinquency Borrower reports and the Entrance and Exit Counseling results to the new message class table. The message classes are as follows:
Update, Import, and Installation Information The message class table update will be transparent to you except for an Import dialog box, which will appear on your screen and display the progress of the import as the file is importing. The new message class table file is also available on the Federal Student Aid Download (FSAdownload) Web site, located at http://fsadownload.ed.gov, in the "Software and Associated Documents" section. Using Multiple Networked PCs If you have performed a network installation of EDconnect, the new message class table will import into the EDconnect database on your network drive. Individual workstations will all have access to the new message class table after it has been imported. Using Multiple Stand-Alone PCs If you are using the current version of EDconnect (version 7.2), the message class table will automatically download and update EDconnect on each PC that initiates a transmission.
