Summary: Issue Alert - No CPS Processing on February 13, 2008 Due to Matching Issues with DHS

Posted on 02-14-2008

Federal Student Aid is alerting schools that we did not process 2007-2008 or 2008-2009 application and correction data on February 13, 2008 due to system issues with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) system that prevented the agency from performing the DHS database match. This delay impacted application data received for processing on February 13, 2008 and February 14, 2008.

The system problems at DHS have now been resolved, allowing normal processing to resume. As a result, please note:

  • Application and correction data received by the Central Processing System (CPS) after approximately 2:00 a.m. (Central Time) on February 12, 2008 and before 2:00 a.m. (Central Time) on February 13, 2008 will be processed on February 14, 2008.
  • Application and correction data received by the CPS after approximately 2:00 a.m. (Central Time) on February 13, 2008 or on February 14, 2008 will be processed by the CPS on February 15, 2008.

Note: Schools should be prepared to receive larger-than-usual Institutional Student Information Record (ISIR) files on February 15, 2008 as a result of this processing delay. Importing these ISIR files into your system may require more time and system resources than usual.
