Publication Date: December 14, 2007 Author: William Leith, Acting General Manager, Application, Operations and Delivery Services, Federal Student Aid Summary: Day Before Christmas Day, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day Federal Holiday Processing and Customer Service Hours Posted on 12-14-2007 By Executive Order, our Federal Offices will be closed on Monday, December 24, 2007, the day before Christmas Day. Our Title IV processors and call centers will be closed or operate on modified schedules on this day. In addition, our Federal offices as well as our Title IV processors and call centers will be closed on Tuesday, December 25, 2007 to observe the Christmas Day Federal holiday and again on Tuesday, January 1, 2008 to observe the New Year's Day Federal holiday. The Central Processing System (CPS) will accept data on Monday, December 24, 2007, Tuesday, December 25, 2007, and Tuesday, January 1, 2008, but will not process new Institutional Student Information Records (ISIRs) until Wednesday, December 26, 2007 and Wednesday, January 2, 2008, respectively. The 2008-2009 FAFSA on the Web application will be available to students and parents beginning on January 1, 2008. The Common Origination and Disbursement (COD) School Relations Center will close at 3:00 P.M. (ET) on Monday, December 24, 2007 and Monday, December 31, 2007. In both cases, the COD School Relations Center will reopen at 8:00 A.M. (ET) on the next business day-Wednesday, December 26, 2007 and Wednesday, January 2, 2008, respectively. The COD System will accept and process data from schools and send back responses/acknowledgments on Monday, December 24, 2007, Tuesday, December 25, 2007, and Tuesday, January 1, 2008, but schools will not be able to receive any Federal funds on those days. Requests for changes in funding levels and for funds will not be processed until Wednesday, December 26, 2007 and Wednesday, January 2, 2008, respectively. All Federal Student Aid Web sites will remain operational on the holidays.
