Summary: Unavailability of SAIG Enrollment Web Site and FAA Access to CPS Online

Posted on 12-06-2007

We would like to announce that the Student Aid Internet Gateway (SAIG) Enrollment Web site (fsawebenroll.ed.gov) and FAA Access to CPS Online (fafsa.ed.gov/FOTWWebApp/faa/faa.jsp) will be unavailable on Sunday, December 16, 2007 from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Central Time so we can implement annual system updates. Along with the addition of a new 2008-2009 option for those services that are based on the academic year, we are also adding the following enhancements:

  1. Requiring that all primary Destination Point Administrators be enrolled for National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS) Online Access in order to enroll other employees at their organization for that service. Primary Destination Point Administrators can verify whether they are already enrolled for NSLDS Online Access by selecting the "Check Your Mailbox Enrollment Information" icon located on the SAIG Enrollment Web site home page. In addition, destination points can determine which TG number is their primary TG number by selecting the "Review Your Organization's Mailboxes" icon, which will reside on the SAIG Enrollment Web site home page after the updates are made on December 16.

  2. Adding an edit that only allows organizations the option to enroll employees for NSLDS Online Access under the same code (i.e. OPEID, Lender ID, GA Code) affiliated with their primary Destination Point Administrator.

  3. Implementing a new TG number schema so that all new TG numbers assigned after December 16 will be in the format TGAxxxx, where "A" represents a letter from A-Z in upper case and "xxxx" represents four numbers, such as TGA0001. This change will not affect destination points that already have a TG number. See the electronic announcement posted on August 23, 2007 for further information about this change.

The SAIG Enrollment Web site enables users to save incomplete transactions that can be retrieved later and completed. Please be aware that you must retrieve and complete any saved transactions by 6:59 a.m. Central Time on Sunday, December 16. Otherwise, your saved information will be removed to avoid any compatibility problems. Listed below are instructions for retrieving any saved data you may have in the SAIG Enrollment database:

1. Click the "Restore Saved Enrollment" link on the SAIG Enrollment Web site home page.

2. Enter the correct Social Security Number, date of birth, and the password assigned to this transaction when it was saved.

3. Click the Restore button.
