As the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) continues to reduce the number of field offices that process the Immigration Status/Document Verification Request, G-845 form, they are notifying Federal Student Aid of the changes. We first informed the community about USCIS field office closures in an Electronic Announcement posted on April 11, 2007. New Field Offices for Multiple States Effective October 1, 2007, many Immigration Status Verification (ISV) Units have been closed. All schools should review the updated Attachment A on the Information for Financial Aid Professionals (IFAP) Web site. This attachment, "Where to Mail Form G-845," must be used to determine the correct USCIS field office for your state or territory (and in some cases, county). Once you have identified the correct USCIS field office for your school, use the address on page 4 for all manual G-845 processing requests. We will continue to update you as additional changes occur. New G-845 Form We are also attaching a copy of the current G-845 form as Attachment B to this announcement on the IFAP Web site.
