Publication Date: May 10, 2007 Author: William Leith, Acting General Manager, Application, Operations and Delivery Services, Federal Student Aid Summary: 2007-2008 CPS Test System Data Updated for Federal Pell Grant Payment and Disbursement Schedule Changes Posted on 05-10-2007 Federal Student Aid is pleased to announce that we have updated the test data for the 2007-2008 Central Processing System (CPS) Test System. We incorporated changes related to the 2007-2008 Federal Pell Grant Payment and Disbursement Schedules updates. The updated test data can be downloaded from the Federal Student Aid Download (FSAdownload) Web site, located at http://fsadownload.ed.gov. To locate the data from the FSAdownload home page, select the "Technical References and Guides" link, then select "2007-2008" under "CPS Test System." The CPS Test System is designed to allow schools to test electronic application and/or correction data from their system with the CPS. This testing is done outside the normal CPS production environment. The CPS provides test files of application records and matching Institutional Student Information Records (ISIRs) to be used for the tests. As an alternative, schools can submit application and renewal records they have created to match the school's expected results. For more information on how to use this system, see the 2007-2008 CPS Test System User's Guide, also available on the FSADownload Web site. In an Electronic Announcement posted on February 27, 2007, we announced that the Revised Continuing Appropriations Resolution, 2007, (P.L. 110-5), established the maximum Pell Grant award for the 2007-2008 Award Year at $4,310 and, with the minimum award continuing to be $400, sets the maximum Expected Family Contribution (EFC) that a student may have to be eligible to receive a Pell Grant at 4110. The 2007-2008 CPS Test System Data, which is now available on the FSAdownload Web site, reflects these Pell Grant changes.
