These positions are located in the School Eligibility Channel of the Federal Student Aid's Program Compliance Office. The area of consideration for this position is "ALL RECRUITING SOURCES" (which includes non-Federal candidates). The School Participation Teams are looking for highly motivated and experienced professionals who are capable of managing multiple priorities and complex tasks in a fast-paced and changing environment.

The individuals selected for these positions will serve as supervisory team leaders, who will share responsibilities for managing and leading a diverse staff that may be located in multiple locations including Washington, DC, Philadelphia, New York, Boston, San Francisco, or Seattle. A successful candidate will be expected to have a working knowledge of the Title IV programs in subject areas such as institutional and program eligibility, student eligibility and cash management, and Federal Student Aid's application and delivery systems. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring through oversight or technical assistance that Title IV participating schools and their educational programs meet Federal eligibility requirements and that those schools timely and accurately provide Title IV aid to their eligible students. Federal Student Aid is responsible for the oversight of over $60 billion in annual loan, work and grant assistance that is disbursed annually to over 9 million students attending over 6000 participating schools.

Specific duties of a School Participation Team Leader include:

  • Monitoring and/or improving institutional compliance with Federal Student Aid's procedures and regulations, such as on-site program reviews, reviewing and approving applications for Title IV participation, analyzing financial statements and compliance audits; and, providing technical or management assistance to institutions.
  • Working with representatives of diverse groups in the financial aid community as well as other Federal, State, and non-governmental agencies to ensure that Federal Student Aid priorities and objectives are met.
  • Managing the workflow and performance of the team through assigning, reviewing, and approving work products, providing guidance and performance expectations, and handling other personnel management functions such as approving leave and conducting performance appraisals.
