Publication Date: January 12, 2007 Author: G. Kay Jacks, General Manager, Application, Operations and Delivery Services, Federal Student Aid Summary: eCampus-Based Web Site Outage January 19-22, 2007 for Security Architecture Implementation Posted on 01-12-2007 As we informed you in Dear Colleague Letter CB-06-14, dated October 25, 2006, we are implementing a new authentication method for the eCampus-Based (eCB) system. To complete this implementation, the eCB system will be unavailable to users from 5:00 P.M. (ET) on Friday, January 19, 2007 until 7:00 A.M. (ET) on Monday, January 22, 2007. During this period, users will not be able to access the eCB Web site. Beginning Monday, January 22, 2007, you will no longer be able to access the eCB system using a PIN for authentication. You will access the eCB system through a Security Architecture using a user id and password for authentication. If you have not already done so, you will need to register for a user id and self-select a password the first time you attempt to access the eCB system on or after January 22nd. If you have any questions about the registration process, please refer to the "Registration Help Files" link located on the left side of the "Login to Application" page. We apologize for any inconvenience this outage may cause and appreciate your understanding of this important work. If you have any questions about this announcement, contact the Campus-Based Call Center at 877/801-7168. Customer service representatives are available Monday through Friday from 8:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M. (ET). You may also e-mail CBFOB@ed.gov. |
