Posted on 12-29-2006

On December 28, 2006, the President issued an Executive Order closing all executive departments, independent establishments, and other governmental agencies on Tuesday, January 2, 2007 as a mark of respect for Gerald R. Ford, the thirty-eighth President of the United States.

Due to the closure of the Federal government for the National Day of Mourning on January 2, 2007, the Central Processing System (CPS) will not begin processing for the 2007-2008 Award Year as scheduled. Instead, the CPS will begin processing 2007-2008 applications on Wednesday, January 3, 2007.
