Posted on 09-06-2006

We are pleased to announce the availability of the 2007-2008 Renewal FAFSA Process Guide in PDF format on the Information for Financial Aid Professionals (IFAP) Web site, located at http://ifap.ed.gov. This guide provides useful information to financial aid administrators (FAAs) about the 2007-2008 renewal application process. A schedule of important dates and a sample of the Renewal Reminder are also provided.

Federal Student Aid is making one significant change to the renewal application process for the 2007-2008 cycle: the second Renewal Reminder distribution, introduced in 2006-2007, has been eliminated. Instead, a single Renewal Reminder distribution will occur beginning in mid-January 2007. Please review the guide for further information about this and other important changes for 2007-2008.

For readers who are viewing this message electronically on IFAP, the 2007-2008 Renewal FAFSA Process Guide is provided as an attachment to this message. Otherwise, to view, print, or download the guide from IFAP, go to http://ifap.ed.gov and click on "Application Processing Materials" from the right side of the home page.

The guide will also be available in the next several days from the Federal Student Aid Download (FSAdownload) Web site, located at http://fsadownload.ed.gov, under "Technical References and Guides."
