Summary: Availability of CPS Test System User Guide for 2006-2007

Posted on 10-25-2005

The U.S. Department of Education is pleased to announce the posting of the CPS Test System User Guide for 2006-2007. The CPS Test System User Guide describes the CPS Test System, which is designed to allow schools to test electronic application and/or correction data from their systems with the Central Processing System (CPS). Test files of application records and matching Institutional Student Information Records (ISIRs) are available for use during testing. As an alternative, schools can submit application and renewal records they have created to match the school's expected results. The CPS Test System will be available the week of November 21, 2005.

Note: Changes may occur to the CPS between the date the 2006-2007 CPS Test System is made available and January 3, 2006, the date the CPS goes into production for 2006-2007. An issues log will be posted to FSAdownload documenting any changes that are made.

The CPS Test System also has demonstration versions of FAFSA on the Web and FAA Access to CPS Online. The 2006-2007 demonstration sites will be available on November 28, 2005. Please refer to the User Guide for more details about the demonstration sites.
