Summary: 2006-2007 EDE Technical Reference Revision - NLSDS Field Descriptions

Posted on 08-09-2005

We are pleased to announce the posting of the updated draft 2006-2007 Electronic Data Exchange (EDE) Technical Reference Record Layouts (including the ISIR Record Layout) and 2006-2007 ISIR Cross-Reference on the U.S. Department of Education's (ED's) Information for Financial Aid Professionals (IFAP) Web site, located at http://ifap.ed.gov/IFAPWebApp/currentEDEReferencesYearPag.jsp. The updated draft technical reference is also available for download from ED's Federal Student Aid Download (FSAdownload) Web site, located at http://fsadownload.ed.gov.

The only changes made in this draft posting are to the Field Name descriptions for the NSLDS Pell Percent Scheduled Award (1), (2), and (3) fields, which are listed as field numbers 330, 340, and 350 in the ISIR Record Description/Data Dictionary and cross-reference table. The Field Name description for each of these field numbers in the earlier draft incorrectly stated "Whole percent with leading zeros, i.e., 50% = 00050." We have updated this text for each field number to correctly state "Percent with two decimal places assumed, for example, 50% = 05000."

The start and end positions, field length, and valid content for the NSLDS Pell Percent Scheduled Award (1), (2), and (3) fields have not changed.

The updated draft 2006-2007 EDE Technical Reference is available in Adobe PDF format only.
