Summary: Typographical Errors in the May 26, 2005 Federal Register (70 FR 30425)

Posted on 07-15-2005

Typographical errors have been discovered in the Notice of revision of the Federal Need Analysis Methodology for the 2006-2007 award year that was published in the May 26, 2005 Federal Register (70 F.R. 30425).

There were two substantive errors as follows:

1. On the bottom of page 30427, under "Assessment Schedules and Rates," one row is incorrect in the table that describes the parents' contribution for a dependent student, based on the parents' AAI (adjusted available income). For the range of "-3,409 to $12,900," the contribution amount of "-22% of AAI" should read "22% of AAI" (the percentage should be positive). The correct amount (22%) is listed for independent students in the subsequent table on the following page in the Federal Register.

2. On pages 30426 and 30427, on the Educational Savings and Asset Protection Allowance charts, the chart header in column two is incorrect. It reads,

"Dependent Students

If the age of the and there are
older parent is - two one parents | one parent."
The "one" between the words "two" and "parents" should be deleted so that the header reads "two parents", rather than "two one parents".

A correction will be published in the Federal Register.
