This position is located in the Office of Federal Student Aid (FSA), Application, School Eligibility and Delivery Services (ASEDS) Program Operations Channel. The area of consideration for this position is "ALL RECRUITING SOURCES" (which includes non-Federal candidates). Vacancy announcement #FSA-2005-0083 is opened concurrently with an area of consideration of "FEDERAL AGENCIES" (status candidates). Major Duties: The two IT specialist positions will provide systems support to the various divisions in the Program Operations Channel: Campus-Based Systems and Operations, Direct Loan Program Operations, Pell Program Operations, Common Origination and Disbursement (COD), and Application Processing. They will work from the POC General Manager's Office, develop TIV systems-wide experience to fortify the base of institutional knowledge in the organization, and will be looked to for leadership. They will support the ongoing business process and systems improvements in ASEDS.

These IT specialists will be expected to successfully operate within a large-scale computer systems production environment where they will apply knowledge of advanced systems concepts, principles, practices and development techniques, to the leading requirements analysis, systems design, and application development and managing software application development efforts with minimal supervision.

The successful candidates for these positions should be articulate, have strong management skills, know how to work in a large-scale computer systems production environment and lead requirements analysis, systems design, and application development activities, and know FSA student aid programs and supporting systems well enough to make an impact on efforts to modernize and integrate systems and procedures in FSA.
