Summary: Annual TG Services Report

Posted on 02-01-2005

On February 1, 2005, FSA and CPS/SAIG Technical Support will send the Annual TG Services Report to specific destination points that transmit data through the Student Aid Internet Gateway (SAIG). This report will assist you in monitoring the access your staff has to FSA secure data. As noted in a January 27, 2005 IFAP announcement, the report is being sent under the message class of DPARSTRS and can be downloaded from the SAIG with EDconnect.

The Annual TG Services Report will go to all "Primary" TG number mailboxes. The Primary TG number is defined as the first TG number that was created for an organization-it is not necessarily the one that the organization uses to send and receive files. To find out what your Primary TG number is, log in to the "Review Your Organization's Mailboxes" feature on the SAIG Enrollment site (http://www.fsawebenroll.ed.gov/).

After reviewing the report, if you find TG numbers that you need to delete, go to the SAIG Enrollment site (http://fsawebenroll.ed.gov) to remove your extra destination points. Procedures for deleting unneeded TG numbers are provided at the end of this message.

You can download the file with EDconnect by either performing a request to receive "All Data, All Messages" or by selecting the DPARSTRS message class in the Description column. After you have downloaded the file, the Annual TG Services Report will appear in your EDconnect Activity Log under the message class of DPARSTRS. You can print the file directly from your Activity Log or using a text editor such as Microsoft Word. To print the file from the Activity Log, double-click on the file name in the File Name field. EDconnect will display the file in a text format so that you can easily print it.

The printed report displays the following information:

1. Customer Number: This number was created when CPS/SAIG Technical Support created the first (Primary) TG number for your organization.

2. Organization Name: This is the name that your organization provided when you enrolled with SAIG.

3. Primary TG Number: This is the first TG number that CPS/SAIG Technical Support created for your organization. It may or may not be the TG number that transmits data for your organization.

4. Destination Point Name: This is the name CPS/SAIG Technical Support has on file for your Primary TG number.

5. Destination Point Administrator: This is the name of the employee in your organization that CPS/SAIG Technical Support has on file as the owner of your Primary TG number.

6. Secondary Destination Point Administrator: This is the name of the employee in your organization that CPS/SAIG Technical Support has on file as the backup person for the Destination Point Administrator of your Primary TG number. This field will be blank for most destination points, since this option has only been available for a few weeks.

7. All of the active TG numbers that CPS/SAIG Technical Support has on file for your organization along with the services we have on file for each TG number.

How to Delete a Destination Point

1. Go to the SAIG Enrollment site (www.fsawebenroll.ed.gov) and click the "Enroll for SAIG Mailbox" icon.
2. Select "Delete a Destination Point (TG Number/mailbox)".
3. Enter the Primary TG number for your organization. Click "Next".
4. Enter the authentication information for the Primary TG number. Click "Next".
5. Review the listing of TG numbers under the Primary TG number.
6. Click the TG number you want to delete.
7. Review the services that are associated with the TG number you want to delete. If you still want to delete the TG number, click "Delete". If batch services are connected to the TG number, a warning box will appear. Click "OK" to continue with the deletion. At this point, the TG number has been inactivated and all services have been removed from that TG number.
8. To delete another TG number, click "Return to TG Selection".
