Summary: Upcoming Distribution of the Annual FAA Roster Report and the Annual TG Services Report
Posted on 01-27-2005
FSA and CPS/SAIG Technical Support announce that we will be sending two new annual reports through the U.S. Department of Education's Student Aid Internet Gateway (SAIG). The Annual FAA Roster Report and the Annual TG Services Report are designed to assist you in managing the access your staff has to FSA secure data systems. The reports will be sent in the coming weeks to specific destination points that transmit data through the SAIG.
These reports will make it easier for you to monitor who at your organization currently has a TG number and who is currently enrolled for FAA Access to CPS Online or eCampus-Based Program (FISAP) online data. The Annual TG Services Report will be sent under the message class DPARSTRS, and the Annual FAA Roster Report will be sent under the message class FAARSTRS.
If, after reviewing the information on either report, you find destination points or FAAs whose access needs to be removed, you will need to go to the SAIG Enrollment Web site (http://fsawebenroll.ed.gov) and remove them. Procedures for deleting each type of access are provided at the end of this message.
Annual TG Services Report
During the week of January 31, 2005, FSA will place the Annual TG Services Report in all "Primary" TG number mailboxes. The Primary TG number is defined as the first TG number that was created for an organization-it is not necessarily the one that the organization uses to send and receive files. To find out what your Primary TG number is, log in to the "Review Your Organization's Mailboxes" feature on the SAIG Enrollment Web site (http://fsawebenroll.ed.gov).
After the Annual TG Services Report is placed in your Primary TG number mailbox, you will need to download the file with your EDconnect software, by either performing a "receive all data" request or by selecting the DPARSTRS message class. After you have downloaded the file, the report will appear in your EDconnect Activity Log under the message class DPARSTRS. You can print the file directly from your Activity Log or using a text editor such as Microsoft Word. To print the file from the Activity Log, double-click on the file name in the File Name field. EDconnect will display the file in a text format so that you can easily print it.
The printed report will display the following information:
1. Customer Number: This number was created when CPS/SAIG Technical Support created the first (Primary) TG number for your organization.
2. Organization Name: This is the name that your organization provided when you enrolled with SAIG.
3. Primary TG Number: This is the first TG number that CPS/SAIG Technical Support created for your organization. It may or may not be the TG number that transmits data for your organization.
4. Destination Point Name: This is the name CPS/SAIG Technical Support has on file for your Primary TG number.
5. Destination Point Administrator: This is the name of the employee in your organization that CPS/SAIG Technical Support has on file as the owner of your Primary TG number.
6. Secondary Destination Point Administrator: This is the name of the employee in your organization that CPS/SAIG Technical Support has on file as the backup person for the Destination Point Administrator of your Primary TG number. This field will be blank for most destination points, since this option has only been available for a few weeks.
7. All of the active TG numbers that CPS/SAIG Technical Support has on file for your organization along with the services we have on file for each TG number.
Annual FAA Roster Report
During the week of February 7, 2005, FSA will place an Annual FAA Roster Report in all TG number mailboxes that have associated FAA users enrolled for either FAA Access to CPS Online or the eCampus-Based (FISAP) online service. To find out which of your TG numbers will receive the report, log in to the "Review your Organization's mailboxes" feature on the SAIG Enrollment Web site (http://fsawebenroll.ed.gov/). If you transmit CPS and FISAP files with the same TG number, your organization will only receive one report. If your organization is enrolled for CPS and FISAP services under different TG numbers, then your organization will receive separate reports. The report lists all employees enrolled for access to FAA Access to CPS Online and/or eCampus-Based (FISAP) online services at your organization.
After the Annual FAA Roster Report is placed in the mailbox(es) that transmits your CPS and/or FISAP data, you will need to download the file with your EDconnect software, by either performing a "receive all data" request or by selecting the FAARSTRS message class. After you have downloaded the file, the report will appear in your EDconnect Activity Log under the message class FAARSTRS. You can print the file directly from your Activity Log or via a text editor such as Microsoft Word. To print the file from the Activity Log, double-click on the file name in the File Name field and EDconnect will display the file in a text format so that you can easily print it.
The printed report will display the following information:
1. TG Number: This is the TG number that transmits CPS and/or FISAP files for your organization.
2. Destination Point Name: This is the name of the organization that is enrolled for CPS and/or FISAP files at your organization.
3. Destination Point Administrator: This is the name of the employee at your organization that is the owner of the TG number that is enrolled for CPS and/or FISAP files at your organization.
4. Secondary Destination Point Administrator: This is the name of the employee in your organization that CPS/SAIG Technical Support has on file as the backup person for the Destination Point Administrator of the TG number that is enrolled for CPS and/or FISAP services. This field will be blank for most destination points since this option has only been available for a few weeks.
5. All the active FAA Users we have on file for your organization. These are the employees at your organization who are currently enrolled for FAA Access to CPS Online and/or FISAP online services. The owner of the TG number will not be listed as an FAA User. Some organizations will not have any FAA Users listed because only the DPA at your organization is currently enrolled for access to the online services.
6. The online service(s) in which the FAA User is currently enrolled.
