The U.S. Department of Education (ED) is pleased to announce the posting of the January version of the 2005-2006 EDE Technical Reference. The updated document, as well as a set of change pages, can be found on the Department's Federal Student Aid Download (FSAdownload) Web site, located at http://fsadownload.ed.gov.

The EDE Technical Reference provides record layouts for schools or other organizations that need to design software systems to interface with ED's software in order to process applications.

The change pages and the full document are posted in Adobe PDF format. The PDF version of the entire document is bookmarked for your convenience. To view or download the EDE Technical Reference from FSAdownload:

1) Go to http://FSAdownload.ed.gov.
2) Click on the "Technical References and Guides" link.
3) On the following page, scroll down to the "Electronic Data Exchange Technical Reference" heading. Beneath the heading are links to various processing cycles. Click on the "2005-2006" link.
4) Select any of the links on the following page to view and/or print the documents, or right-click on any of the links and choose "Save Target AsÂ…" in order to save the documents to your hard drive.
5) If you have saved documents to your hard drive, open them using Adobe Acrobat Reader to view and/or print them.
