RE:Windows 2003 Server Approved as Network Environment for EDESuite Software

DATE: November 10, 2004

The U.S. Department of Education is pleased to announce that Microsoft's Windows 2003 Server has been tested and approved as a network operating environment for the following EDESuite software products:

* EDExpress for Windows 2003-2004

* EDExpress for Windows 2004-2005

* ISIR Analysis Tool for Windows 2003-2004

* Return of Title IV Funds (R2T4) Versions 1.1.1

* SSCR Release 2.0

* Direct Loan Tools Version 3.1

* Direct Loan Tools Release 4.0

Although earlier versions of EDESuite software products were not tested on the Windows 2003 Server, we do not anticipate problems with them.

The software was tested in a workstation/server environment, with the EDESuite program files on Windows Me, Windows 2000, or Windows XP workstations and the databases on Windows 2003 Servers. Other types of multi-user environments, such as thin clients, and installations in which the EDESuite program files are installed to and run from the server, are not supported and were not tested.
