Summary: Guidance provided to schools and others impacted by Hurricane Charley

The Secretary wants to remind all FSA partners, especially those Florida schools that were directly impacted by the devastation caused by Hurricane Charley and other schools, lenders, and agencies that serve students and families impacted by the storm that various waivers and flexibilities are available to lessen the impact of the storm on their administration of the Title IV student assistance programs. In February of this year, we published a Dear Colleague Letter (GEN-04-04) that provides a comprehensive listing of those flexibilities and waivers. A copy of GEN-04-04 is available on our IFAP website at ifap.ed.gov or by calling our Customer Service Call Center (CSCC) at 1-800-433-7327. If you have any other questions regarding these announcements you can call the CSCC or send an email to fsa.customer.support@ed.gov.
