Summary: RFMS and DLOS SAIG Mailbox Deactivation on August 14, 2004
Background
The Common Origination and Disbursement (COD) System is the single repository for Pell Grant and Direct Loan data and replaced the Recipient Financial Management System (RFMS) and the Direct Loan Origination System (DLOS) effective July 31, 2003. (Refer to the Electronic Announcement at http://www.ifap.ed.gov/eannouncements/0819CODPellConversion.html/, DLB-03-27 at http://www.ifap.ed.gov/dlbulletins/DLB0327.html/, and DLB-03-33 at http://www.ifap.ed.gov/dlbulletins/DLB0333.html/.) As a result, schools interface with only one system, the COD System, to originate and disburse Pell Grants and Direct Loans, to request data, and to report changes. Schools submit Pell Grant and/or Direct Loan data for processing by sending files to the COD System via COD SAIG mailbox TG71900.
RFMS SAIG Mailbox Deactivation on August 14, 2004
RFMS SAIG mailbox TG54880 to which Pell data was sent is no longer needed, and we will permanently deactivate it on August 14, 2004. This means that files sent to RFMS SAIG mailbox TG54880 after August 14, 2004--
- Will not be forwarded by SAIG to the COD System; and

To assist schools in preparing for the deactivation of the RFMS SAIG mailboxes, we are attaching to this announcement an Excel Spreadsheet titled "Pell Message Table Changes" that contains two tabs listing the Pell message classes previously sent to mailboxes TG54880 and TG56321. The disposition of these message classes after the mailbox deactivation is as follows:
- The tab titled "TG54880" contains the Pell message classes that were previously sent to RFMS SAIG mailbox TG54880.
Beginning August 21, 2004, schools can continue to use these Pell message classes only to send files via COD SAIG mailbox TG71900. SAIG will disseminate an updated message class table to reflect the mailbox change for these Pell message classes.
