RE: 2003-2004 and 2004-2005 NSLDS Postscreening

The U.S. Department of Education would like to alert the financial aid community of two NSLDS postscreening issues that affected the 2003-2004 and 2004-2005 processing cycles.

From February 5, 2004, until March 9, 2004, NSLDS experienced a postscreening issue for the 2004-2005 processing cycle that generated approximately 8000 system-generated ISIR records with Postscreening Reason Code 03 that may have been postscreened in error.

This issue was corrected on March 17, 2004.

NSLDS experienced another postscreening issue the week of April 19, 2004 that affected both the 2003-2004 and 2004-2005 processing cycles. For 2003-2004, approximately 62,000 system-generated ISIRs were created with Postscreening Reason Code 03. For 2004-2005, approximately 28,000 system-generated ISIRs were created with Postscreening Reason Codes 01, 06, 09, and 10. These records may have been postscreened in error.

This issue was corrected on April 20, 2004.

To ensure that all schools have the most current data, the affected records will be postscreened again the week of May 3, 2004 with a Postscreened Reason Code of 99 to indicate the NSLDS reprocessing.
