Summary: NSLDS Post-screening Issue Affecting 2003-2004 and 2004-2005 ISIRs

System-generated ISIRs for the 2003-2004 and 2004-2005 cycles were created by the Central Processing System (CPS) based on NSLDS post-screening results. Due to a NSLDS processing issue, some of the system-generated ISIRs may not reflect any changes to the students' NSLDS data. ISIRs for the 2003-2004 cycle were created April 19, 2004, and ISIRs for the 2004-2005 cycle were created April 20, 2004.

This may cause some confusion for students receiving paper Student Aid Reports (SARs) without having submitted a correction, particularly if the SAR does not indicate a change in NSLDS information from prior transactions.

ISIRs affected by this issue for the 2003-2004 cycle were sent in the system-generated message class SYSG04OP, and can be identified by the following:

1) Transaction Data Source/Type code (Field #12, Positions 83-84) = 73 (CPS NSLDS Post-Screening)

2) System Generated Indicator (Field #136, Position 602) = N (NSLDS post-screening transaction)

ISIRs affected by this issue for the 2004-2005 cycle were sent in the system-generated message class IGSA05OP (IGRE05OP/IGNR05OP for state agencies), and can be identified by the following:

1) Transaction Data Source/Type code (Field #111, Positions 535-536) = 5N (NSLDS Post-Screening)

2) System Generated Indicator (Field #152, Position 709) = N (NSLDS post-screening transaction)
