Summary: COD Batch Processing Suspended and COD Web Site Outage March 12‑14, 2004
COD has scheduled implementation of additional system functionality for the weekend of March 12‑14, 2004. These system changes will support the processing of Pell Grants and Direct Loans for the 2004-2005 Award Year. We will provide the details of the specific system changes in a forthcoming Electronic Announcement.
In order to install the system changes that will allow the COD system to receive and process 2004‑2005 records—
· COD will suspend batch processing beginning at 8:00 PM (ET) on Friday, March 12, 2004. Records submitted after 8:00 PM (ET) will be held and processed after 8:30 AM (ET) on Sunday, March 14, 2004.
· The COD web site will be unavailable from 8:00 PM (ET), Friday, March 12, 2004 through 8:30 AM (ET), Sunday, March 14, 2004.
GAPS will continue to be available during the March 12‑14, 2004 period, and schools may continue to request funds. However, COD will not send funding adjustments or requests to GAPS until Monday, March 15, 2004. Schools needing additional funds during this time are encouraged to submit their records to COD no later than 6:00 PM (ET) on Thursday, March 11, 2004.
Additionally, for those schools participating in Direct Loans, the Direct Loan Electronic Master Promissory Note (eMPN) web application, http://dlenote.ed.gov, will be unavailable from 8:00 PM (ET), Friday, March 12, 2004 through noon (12:00 PM ET), Sunday, March 14, 2004. Borrowers starting the eMPN process by 7:00 PM (ET) on Friday, March 12, 2004 will be able to complete their eMPNs before the web site becomes unavailable. Individuals attempting to access the web site after the cutoff time will see a message saying the web site is undergoing maintenance and will not be able to start the eMPN process or retrieve an existing MPN.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding and patience while we complete this important activity.
