RE: Issue Alert: Installation Issue with DLL Files Needed for EDExpress for Windows 2004-2005 FAA Access interface

We have discovered an installation issue with EDExpress for Windows 2004-2005, Release 1.0 affecting PCs that did not previously have EDExpress for Windows 2003-2004 installed on them.

**Issue**

The Release 1.0 installation does not load certain Dynamic Link Library (DLL) files installed by the EDExpress for Windows 2003-2004 software. Without these files, Release 1.0 functionality that allows EDExpress to interface with the FAA Access to CPS Online Web site will not operate correctly.

** Workaround **

We are developing a small installation file (XML_DLL.exe) you will be able to run on your EDExpress PC workstation(s) to resolve this issue. We will send out an additional announcement when this file is available on the Department's Federal Student Aid Download (FSAdownload) Web site (located at FSAdownload.ed.gov).

In the interim, you can resolve this issue in one of the two following ways:

1) Download EDExpress for Windows 2003-2004, Version 9.2 from the FSAdownload Web site and install the software on the affected workstation(s) in your office. Once you have installed Version 9.2 and rebooted the PC, the software issue in Release 1.0 will be resolved.

2) Until the installation file is posted and installed at your school, you can connect to the FAA Access to CPS Online web site directly (outside of EDExpress) using your Internet browser to perform activities such as FAFSA entry and ISIR corrections. The FAA Access to CPS Online web site can be accessed at fafsa.ed.gov/faa.htm.

We regret any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.
