eZ-Audit Update for Not-For-Profit and Public Institutions

EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY
In our September 9, 2003 eZ-Audit Update for Not-For-Profit Schools, we informed you of our goal to ensure that eZ-Audit provide the best possible outcomes for all parties and that feedback was our best source to accomplish this.
As a result of feedback received from the not-for-profit community, the Department will be enhancing its eZ-Audit system. To ensure that we provide a higher level of service and usability, the Department is requesting, that all Not-for-Profit and Public Institutions temporarily postpone audit submissions via eZ-Audit, effective immediately. The Department anticipates that the modifications will be completed by March 1, 2004. The community will be notified via IFAP when the system is once again available for use, and will be asked to make any then due submissions within 60 days after the system is available for accepting those submissions.
PLEASE NOTE that the submission of your school's audit reports to the Federal Audit Clearinghouse is still required under the timeframes and procedures specified in OMB Circular A-133. In addition, once the modifications to eZ-Audit have been completed you must also submit your audit to the Department via eZ-Audit as explained above.
Proprietary schools' e-Z audit submissions will continue uninterrupted while we make the systems modifications unique to A-133 schools.
We are encouraging all not-for-profit and public schools that have not registered with eZ-Audit to do so now. Only a small percentage of the community has registered thus far. Registration is an ongoing process and it only takes 24 - 48 hours to receive a username and password.
