We are pleased to announce the posting of the September 2003 draft of the 2004-2005 EDE Technical Reference (including the ISIR Record Layout, and ISIR Cross Reference) on the Department's IFAP Web site, located at ifap.ed.gov, and on the Department's Federal Student Aid Download (FSAdownload) Web site, located at www.fsadownload.ed.gov.
The EDE Technical Reference provides record layouts for schools or other organizations that need to design software systems to interface with the Department's Application Processing Systems in order to process student financial aid applications.
The following layouts have been updated in this posting:
- ISIR Record Description/Data Description
- FAFSA Application Record Export Layout
- Correction Record Export Layout
- Type 2 Individual PIN Request Export and PIN Error Import Record Layout
- RAPP PIN/Print Notification Layout
The September 2003 draft has been posted in PDF format.
To view or download the updated draft through the IFAP Web site:
1) Go to the IFAP Web site (ifap.ed.gov) and look for ""Other Views" on the left side of the page.
2) Click on the "Current Publications" link.
3) On the following page, click on "EDE Technical Reference".
4) On the next page, select "by 2004-2005 Award Year."
5) On the next page, select "Draft 2004-2005 EDE Technical Reference Record Layouts"."
To view or download the updated draft through the FSAdownload Web site:
1) Go to FSAdownload.ed.gov.
2) Click on the "References and Documents" link on the left side of the page.
3) On the following page, click on the "2004-2005" link under the "Electronic Data Exchange Technical Reference" heading.
4) On the next page, click on the "PDF Format" links next to each document section to download the file to your PC.
