RE: Network installation upgrade of EDconnect v5.3
CPS/WAN Technical Support has identified a potential issue that may affect some users who are attempting to do a network upgrade of EDconnect v5.3. This only affects users who choose an Upgrade and then a Network install. This does not affect users who are doing workstation or local installation upgrades.
Installing EDconnect for the first time:
This issue does not affect you.
EDConnect and database are both installed locally on my hard drive:
This issue does not affect you.
EDconnect installed on my workstation and the database is installed on the network:
DO NOT choose Upgrade, and then Network install. Only do an Upgrade, Workstation install and it will update the network database for you.
Already upgraded by choosing Network Install - Now what?
If you have already chosen Upgrade Network install you have not damaged your database. You have simply put more files on the server than necessary. In some instances, you may see a DAO workspace error when opening the software. This is because EDconnect is confused about the location of your database.
To resolve this issue, close EDconnect and follow the instructions below:
- Open the Windows Explorer and navigate to your network drive where you ran the network install.
- Make a backup of your database (Edconn32.mdb) and all T4api files and delete the remaining files from you network folder.
