RE: Draft 2004-2005 EDE Technical Reference Record Layouts
We are pleased to announce the posting of the draft 2004-2005 EDE Technical Reference Record Layouts (including the ISIR Record Layout) and 2004-2005 ISIR Cross-Reference on the Department’s IFAP Web site, located at http://www.ifap.ed.gov. The draft record layouts will ultimately become Section 3 of the 2004-2005 EDE Technical Reference. The draft cross-reference will be included in Section 4.
The EDE Technical Reference provides record layouts for schools or other organizations that need to design software systems to interface with the Department’s Application Processing Systems in order to process student financial aid applications.
The following layouts are included in this posting:
ISIR Record Description/Data Dictionary
Type 2 Individual PIN Request Export and PIN Error Import Record Layout
RAPP PIN/Print Notification Layout
FAFSA Application Export Record Layout
Correction Export Record Layout
Signature Record Export Record Layout
School Web Student Signature Hold Information Record Layout
The Cross Reference compares the fields on the 2003-2004 ISIR Record Layout with the fields on the 2004-2005 ISIR Record Layout, and is organized by the 2003-2004 fields.
The documents are posted in PDF format.
To view or download the updated documents:
1) On the IFAP Web site, look for "OTHER VIEWS" near the bottom of the page.
2) Click on the "Current Publications" link.
3) On the following page, click on "EDE Technical Reference."
4) On the next page, select "By 2004-2005 Award Year."
5) On the next page, select "Draft 2004-2005 EDE Technical Reference Record Layout."
The draft record layouts will also be available on the Department's FSADownload web site soon. To view or download the updated documents:
1) Go to http://www.FSAdownload.ed.gov.
2) Click on the "References and Documents" link on the left side of the page.
3) On the following page, scroll down to the "2004-2005 Electronic Data Exchange Technical Reference" heading. Beneath the heading are links to various processing cycles. Click on the "2004-2005" link.
4) Select any of the links on the following page to view the documents, or right-click on any of the links and choose "Save Target As…" in order to save the document to your hard drive.
5) If you have saved documents to your hard drive, open them using Adobe Acrobat Reader to view and/or print them.
