RE: EDExpress, Version 9.1 DL/Pell Training Sessions

The Department has changed 2003-2004 EDExpresssoftware functionality significantly to better accommodate effective and efficient data exchange with the Common Origination and Disbursement (COD) system. We would like to strongly encourage you to enroll in Department training classes this year to become more familiar with and proficient in this new EDExpress functionality.

In the past, EDExpress training was designed for beginners rather than intermediate/advanced users. We have modified this approach for 2003-2004 training.

If you are an intermediate to advanced level user of the Pell and/or Direct Loan modules of EDExpress, you should plan to attend in-person training in May, June or July 2003. Training is available in all of the Regional Training facilities, as well as at select off-site locations. For more information, the EDExpress Pell Training announcement can be accessed at http://www.ifap.ed.gov/dpcletters/Ann0304.html and the EDExpress DL Training announcement can be accessed at http://www.ifap.ed.gov/dpcletters/Ann0303.html.

Seating is limited, so please register as soon as possible. You can access the training registration system directly at https://sfa.jamcracker.com/workspace/login/pages/fsa/login.jsp?TARGET=http://sfa.jamcracker.com.

If you are a new EDExpress user, you are strongly encouraged to complete on-line EDExpress Basic training prior to attending the in-person advanced level training. You may access the on-line Basic training at http://ifap.ed.gov/edexpress/index.htm.

EDExpress Version 9.1 is available for download from the Department’s Federal Student Aid Download (FSAdownload) Web site, located at http://FSAdownload.ed.gov.

If you have any questions about EDExpress, please contact CPS/WAN Technical Support at 800/330-5947 or via e-mail at CPSWAN@ncs.com.

If you wish to use EDExpress Version 9.1 to process Pell and/or Direct Loan data, you must notify COD that your school will be a Full Participant by completing a letter as described in the IFAP posting at the following Web site: www.ifap.ed.gov/eannouncements/0226CODSignUpforFP0304.html.
