We are pleased to inform you that we have posted updates to the 2003-2004 ISIR Guide, dated February 2003.

The ISIR Guide assists schools in interpreting the information contained in electronic Institutional Student Information Records (ISIRs) returned by the Central Processing System (CPS).

In addition to an overview of the Electronic Data Exchange (EDE) process and specific information about the ISIR, the guide includes the following appendices:Â Reject Codes and Reject Reasons, Database Matches and Match Flags, Loan Status Codes and Eligibility Charts, SAR and ISIR Information Acknowledgment, SAR/ISIR Comment Codes and Text, Addresses, Sample ISIR, and Worksheet for Question 35.

The guide is available in PDF format on the FSAdownload Web site at http://FSAdownload.ed.gov and on the IFAP Web site at http://IFAP.ed.gov.

To download the 2003-2004 ISIR Guide from the FSAdownload Web site:

1) Go to http://FSAdownload.ed.gov.
2) Click on the “References & Documentation” link on the left side of the page.
3) Click on the “2003-2004” link under the “ISIR Guide” heading on the following page.
4) On the next page, right-click on any of the “PDF Format” links and a menu will appear.5) If you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer, select “Save Target As” from the menu, then browse to the folder to which you wish to save the file. If you are using Netscape, select “Save Link As” from the menu, then browse to the folder to which you wish to save the file.
6) Once the file has been saved, you may open it in Adobe Acrobat Reader to view and/or print the document.

To download the 2003-2004 ISIR Guide from the IFAP Web site:

1) Go to http://IFAP.ed.gov.
2) Click on the “Current Publications” link on the left side of the page under “OTHER VIEWS.”
3) On the following page, click on the “SAR/ISIR Reference Material” link.
4) Click on the “By 2003-2004 Award Year” link on the next page.5) Click on the “A Guide to 2003-2004 ISIRs” link on the next page.
