Summary: Notice of Status for Spanish Materials

SUBJECT: Anticipated Dates of Publication of Spanish Materials

The 2003-2004 Spanish versions of the FAFSA, The Student Guide, Funding Your Education, and a new publication--Repaying Your Student Loans--are much later this year than we anticipated. We had to make an unexpected change in our translation process, which caused the delay. We are sorry these materials are not ready when you--and we--expected them to be. Next year, we anticipate having the Spanish translations ready on schedule.

Here is when the 2003-2004 Spanish materials should be available:

· We anticipate the Spanish FAFSA will be in print around mid-to late March; the PDF version should be posted to the Students Portal (www.studentaid.ed.gov) around the latter part of February. The Spanish version is up on FAFSA on the web (www.FAFSA.ed.gov).

· The Spanish Funding Your Education will be printed in early March and was posted to the Portal on February 4.

· The Spanish Repaying Your Student Loans is expected to be printed in early March and will be posted to the Portal on February 19.

· The Spanish Student Guide should be printed in mid-March and posted to the Portal by early March.

We appreciate your patience during this typical year.
