CPS Reprocessing of Specific 2003-2004 Rejected Student Transactions
From January 2 through January 23, 2003, approximately 37,500 student applications for the 2003-2004 award year were processed without an EFC due to a problem with the Central Processing System (CPS). During that time, students who were eligible for Auto Zero EFCs for the 2002-2003 award year and filed 2003-2004 paper Renewal Applications without altering financial data did not have their financial information pulled forward to their 2003-2004 transactions.
The affected students (Dependency Status = X or Y, ISIR field #132) received rejected applications with Reject Reason “2” (ISIR field #146).
The CPS will reprocess the transactions on 02/04/03 for students who have not already corrected the financial information themselves. Reprocessing the records will pull the financial information forward from the 2002-2003 applications to the 2003-2004 applications, eliminating Reject Reason “2.”
SARs or e-mail notifications will be sent to students. ISIRs will be sent to schools on 02/05/03.
Reprocessed ISIRs can be identified by the following:
- Reprocessed Reason Code (ISIR field #268, positions 1670-1671) will equal “01”
- System Generated Indicator (ISIR field #136, positions 602) will equal “Z”
- Comment Code 172 will be present in ISIR field #265
- System Generated message class: SYSG04OP
- Batch Number #Y400000020030204000001 will be present in ISIR field #116
