The Department is pleased to announce that the 2002-2003 Direct Loan Technical Reference (January 2003 version) has been posted on the US Department of Education's Federal Student Aid Download Web site (http://FSAdownload.ed.gov). The January 2003 documentation includes both the change pages and the entire updated document.

The Direct Loan Technical Reference provides record layouts for schools and other organizations that need to design software to interface with Department of Education Application Systems.

The change pages are available in both PDF and Microsoft Word formats. The full document is available in PDF format only. The PDF document is bookmarked for your convenience.

If you intend to print individual files, print the File Naming Conventions file first, as it explains how to assemble the technical reference.
