The Department is pleased to announce that the 2003-2004 EDE Suite Process Guide has been posted on the U.S. Department of Education's Student Financial Assistance Download (FSAdownload) Web site (located at http://FSAdownload.ed.gov).

The EDE Suite Process Guide is designed to meet the reference needs of financial aid administrators, programmers, and data processing staff. It provides information on the changes and enhancements FSA has made to the EDESuite program of software products for the 2003-2004 award year.

The EDE Process Guide contains the following sections:

  • Overview: provides general information about the Guide itself
  • Getting Help: lists contacts who can provide you with assistance
  • Schedule for EDESuite software: provides the software release schedule for the 2003-2004 process year
  • What's New for 2003-2004: describes changes to the EDESuite software
  • References: describes how to get further assistance, including documents, web sites and a glossary

Please note that EDExpress has been tested and approved to run on Windows XP and Windows 2000. Users who run the program on those two operating systems must have Power User or higher status -- there is no work-around for this issue. EDExpress will also run on Windows 98, ME, and NT 4 (Service Pack 3 or higher) systems.

EDExpress for Windows Version 9.0 contains the App Express, Global and Packaging modules. The Pell and Direct Loan modules are contained in version 9.1, which will be released in late March 2003.
