RE: Network Message Revision - 2002-2003 EDE Technical Reference - Signature Record Layout Corrections

This is an addendum to the recent message alerting you to several discrepancies in the 2002-2003 EDE Technical Reference Signature Record layout (message class SIGS03IN). The original network message correctly described required changes to the information found in fields 11 and 12 of the Signature Record layout but omitted additional changes to field 10.

In the 2002-2003 EDE Technical Reference layout for the Signature Record, field 10 (filler space prior to Federal School Code) is described as occupying positions 57-471. The correct positions for Field 10 are 57-470. The field length has changed from 415 bytes to 414 bytes.

Revisions to fields 11 and 12 remain in effect and are listed below:

Field 11 (the Federal School Code) is described as occupying positions 472-477. The correct positions for Field 11 are 471-476.

Field 12 (filler space following Federal School Code) is listed as occupying positions 478-552. The correct positions for Field 12 are 477-552. The field length has changed from 75 bytes to 76 bytes.

Please note that the 2002-2003 EDExpress software will correctly create and export Signature records (SIGS03IN). The changes described in this message are intended for schools creating SIGS03IN files in non-EDExpress systems which are based on the 2002-2003 EDE Technical Reference record layouts.
