RE: Issue Alert: 2001-2002 EDExpress Version 7.2.1: Loan Inactivation Issue

CPS/WAN Technical Support wishes to alert all users of the 2001-2002 EDExpress Version 7.2.1 Direct Loan module of a recently discovered issue that affects the export of change records to the Loan Origination Center (LOC).

Issue: If you reduce actual disbursements to zero on the Disburse tab (which is typically the first step in inactivating a loan record), a message will display asking you if you would like to inactivate the loan. If you click "Yes" to this prompt and the prompt after it (which explains the inactivation options in greater detail), the software will reduce the Anticipated Disbursement amounts and the Loan Amount Approved to zero and generate a change record to be exported to the LOC. However, the change file that is exported will only contain the Anticipated Disbursement changes, and not the Loan Amount Approved reduction.

Workaround: Click "No" to the initial message on the Disburse tab asking if you would like to inactivate the loan (following your reduction of the actual disbursements to zero). Switch to the Loans tab and mark the "Inactive Loan?" checkbox. Click "Yes" to the two prompts to reduce the Anticipated Disbursements and Loan Amount Approved to zero.

By following this process, both your Anticipated Disbursement and Loan Amount Approved reductions will be included when you export changes to send to the LOC and the loan will be properly inactivated.

We regret any inconvenience this issue may cause you. If you have any questions regarding this message, please contact CPS/WAN Technical Support at 800/330-5947 or via e-mail at CPSWAN@NCS.COM.
