RE: December Posting to IFAP of Updated RFMS Record Layouts for 2002-2003
THIS MESSAGE: Announces additional updates to the RFMS record layouts for 2002-2003 dated November 2, 2001 that were posted to IFAP on November 6, 2001. The new updated record layouts are dated December 7, 2001. Please note that while Pell Grants will by processed for all schools in 2002-03 by the Common Originations and Disbursement System, not RFMS, these are the layouts that will be used by schools that are not sending records in the XML format.
The Federal Pell Grant Program has made the following additional changes to the RFMS record layouts for 2002-2003:
- In the Grant Batch Header Record, positions 49-58, Valid Values column, we removed the statement "This field is required",
- In the Disbursement Acknowledgment Record, positions 38-39, Processing Notes/Edits column, the range for RFMS system generated disbursement numbers has been increased from 91-99 to 66-99,
- In the Field Name column of the Disbursement Record (position 40), the Disbursement Acknowledgment Record (position 40), the ESOA Detail Record (position 54), the YTD Disbursement Record (position 48), and the External Disbursement Add/Change Record (position 47), "Debit/Credit Indicator Flag" has been renamed "Sign Indicator."; and
- In the External Origination Add/Change Record, the Secondary Expected Family Contribution field, positions 312-316, has been removed. The unused portion (constant spaces) of this record is now positions 312-344.
All the changes made for 2002-2003 to the 2001-2002 record layouts are highlighted in the 2002-2003 record layouts dated December 7, 2001 for your convenience. The record layout files are available in both Word and PDF formats.
