Subject: Extension of 2002-2003 Renewal PIN Request process
We are pleased to announce the extension of the 2002-2003 Renewal PIN request process. This process was originally scheduled to end on October 26, 2001 but has been extended through November 30, 2001.
The Renewal PIN Request process allows you to request PINs be sent to your students instead of paper Renewal Applications for 2002-2003 financial aid re-application. More details about this process can be found in Student Financial Assistance 2002-2003 Action Letter # 1 (GEN-01-10), published on IFAP in August 2001. You can access this letter on the Web at http://www.ifap.ed.gov/dpcletters/GEN0110CovLetter.html.
The CPS will still start printing and mailing PINs on 11/1/01 and will transmit the information file to your school between 11/1/01 and 11/9/01. Please note if you submit a request for PINs after 10/26/01, your students will get the PIN as well as a paper Renewal Application (if they originally were to get a paper Renewal Application).
We hope this extension enables you to select and use the best process for your students and your school as you prepare for the new processing year. If you have any questions regarding this, please contact CPS/WAN Technical Support at 800/330-5947 or via e-mail at cpswan@ncs.com.
